McWolf 3,115
Today is a very special day for the protagonist of this story. 14-year old Jake Stingray was at the center of a little ceremony in the locker room before the game opposing his Alexandria Cardinals to the Andover Huskies. Jake has always been one of the best players in his age group and he's starting to develop into a pretty solid two-way centers. While other players his age tend to value goals and points above everything else, he thinks it's every little thing that counts and adds up in the end. To him, backchecking and stealing a puck from an opponent in breakaway is just as important as ripping one in. For this reason, today, his coaches decided to decorate his jersey with the captain's C. Jake isn't one for big speeches, so he's simply going to accept it and sit back at his spot. He'll probably never be the kind of captain that you see make speeches to his teammates before important games. But he'll wear the letter proudly and he'll lead his crew by setting an impeccable example for them to follow. Our protagonist doesn't know it yet, as he's only 14 years old, but this is merely a step in the great story that is his hockey career. --- Claiming 2nd TPE package Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/57148-a-story-eight-years-in-the-making-part-ii/ Share on other sites
