Attention readers: Below is an exclusive interview with Jagger Philliefan, Defenseman for the upcoming World Junior Championship team that will be representing the United States.

Interviewer: So, Mr. Philliefan--

Philliefan: Please, call me Jagger.

Interviewer: Haha, thank you. So, Jagger, what can you tell me about how you’re feeling right now?

Philliefan: Well, I’m excited. Growing up as a huge hockey fan, there was never truly a VHL or VHLM team in my area that I felt I could get behind. I loved watching hockey, and the only team I truly felt that I could get behind was Team USA. I love getting the chance to represent my country, I just hope I live up to the hype.

Interviewer: It must have been very disappointing last year when you were passed over by both Team USA and Team World, eh?

Philliefan: Indeed it was. I knew I’d have a tough shot at representing my country, but I had hope that I could participate in the tournament under Team World. I missed out, but I didn’t take it too hard. I knew I just had to work even harder to force Team USA to choose my this time around.

Interviewer: That’s a great attitude to have!

Philliefan: Thanks. I know one of the reasons I got drafted so highly by QCM was because of my selflessness, and I don’t plan on letting them down in that regard.

Interviewer: Wonderful. Let that serve as a lesson to all those young, potential future VHLers out there. Thanks for your time!

Philliefan: No problem. Thanks for having me.
