During a quite disappoiting season for Matthew Kai, this week has proven to be a rollercoaster for the young South Korean forward. Matthew got two calls this week that have taken his career into a whole new direction that what he was expecting.

First call came from the Team Asia general manager for the World Junior Championship. Kai was selected and learned that he should be a big part of this team as they try to get away with the gold at this year's event. Kai has double nationality, he grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, but was born in Seoul, he made the decision at a very young age to represent Korea at the international level and try and put korean hockey on the map.

Second one came from the general manager of the Oslo Storm when Kai learned that he had been dealt from Ottawa to Oslo along with 2 picks for Charles Puigdemont and Dallas Jones. As he feels it's a big amount of pressure put on his shoulders to replace Puigdemont and Jones in Oslo, he's excited for a fresh start and play a bigger part on a new team.
