Toasty 57
Halifax defense-man, Basaraba Moose has finally started to play like himself again, since being traded to the Halifax 21st. In Las Vegas, Moose got very little ice-time and had no connection with any of his teammates whatsoever. Normally, Moose is a force, when it comes to physical and mental aspects of the game but after playing 34 games with the Aces this season, all Moose had to show for was 2 assists and a lousy -1 rating. Not even a single PIM, which is very out of character for a player like Moose, who typically is very emotional and stands up for his teammates by pounding on the opponent relentlessly until they beg for mercy. Moose just felt uninspired and worn out in Vegas. It felt to him like there was nothing worth playing for. And so, a relentless drought ensued. Moose was initially given a larger responsibility on the team, but he slowly fell out of favor, spending the good part of the season on the third pairing, eventually getting altogether scratched from the lineup. Halifax picked Moose up at the deadline for cheap and all of a sudden he felt some life in him again. He had returned to his old team and had something to play for. Since being traded, Moose has done well with the 21st for his standards, putting up 2 goals and 3 assists and posting a +5 rating in the 13 games he has played for Halifax. Things are looking up for Moose and he can't wait to face down Las Vegas in the playoffs.
