hockeyis66 143
Last night, Kari Jurri got his first taste of VHLM action in a home game against the Ottawa Lynx. Even though Storm lost 2-1 in overtime, Jurri saw over 15 minutes of action on the third line and had the primary assist on the only goal of the game late in the third period that gave the Storm a 1-0 lead. He also had two shots in the game and was a +1. The game winning goal was scored just 18 seconds into the overtime period. He also got 30 seconds of power play time as well. “I was definitely nervous during warmups and stepping out onto the ice for my first shift, but once I got into the flow of the game, I settled down quite a bit. I knew these guys were going to be bigger, faster and stronger and I just wanted to get out there and play my game and make sure I didn’t make any mistakes that would cost us a goal.” “On my assist, I just wanted to get the puck to the net since there was traffic in front of the goalie and somehow my shot made it through all the bodies. It hit the goalie in the pads and kicked out in front of an open net and Zimmer banged it home. Definitely wished we would have won the game, but happy to contribute in my first game.” Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/57852-kari-jurri-getting-first-taste-of-vhlm-action/ Share on other sites
