Matthew Materazo Season in Review

In his first full season in the VHLM, Matthew Materazo did not disappoint. After being drafted 18th by the New York Americans, and 3rd by the Aces in the VHLM draft, he got 90 points in 72 games, good for eighth in the league this year. After a slow start and only having 20 points in 26 games, he went on a grind and went off on multiple occasions, including being a nominee on Plates Player of the Week (which he should of won). He also finished eighth in assists, with 56, and eleventh in goals, with 34. He is a key part of the Las Vegas offense, and is also a piece on the Las Vegas penalty kill. He is ready to start his first full season in the VHL for the New York Americans.

In the S64 mock draft, scouts said "Materazo has a bit less TPE than the other players that could have been selected here instead of him, but he's the better option, as he earns TPE at way better rate right now, Had he joined earlier in the season, he could have competed with some of the bigger names in the draft class for a spot in the 1st or 2nd round" When mentioning New York American prospects, the prospects were described as "Outside of Materazo, their prospects are decent but not franchise players". Materazo has not disappointed and is looking forward to making a name for himself in the VHL, winning championships, and making even maybe the hall of fame, and wants to bring on multiple generations of VHLers as his career winds down.
