Wilinsky talks about his new contract

We say down with Dan Wilinsky of the New York Americans and asked him about his new contract.

 

Vhl.com- Thanks for dropping in Dan, it's been a busy offseason so far in New York. A big new contract for you.  What are your thoughts on the contract you got? Was it an easy process? Did you get everything you wanted?

 

Dan- Thanks for having me! I don't think it was much of a surprise that we'd get something done. Spade and I had had some early talks getting a feel for what our goals were.

 

He was real aggressive in making it known he wanted me here. I wanted to know he wanted to win big and soon as I'm getting older. We went back and forth on term, but the money stayed about the same.

 

I was happy to get it done, once I heard McWolf was coming back for the rest of his career, I was ready to commit long term. I didnt want the thought of a contract ending looming over my head all year. Now we just have to play to expectations and we should be a great franchise for the next several years.
