Corco 1,237
Undefeated in Pre-season, Iron Eagles Look Forward to S37 Leon Leitner was a part of some trade rumors in the off-season, but he is all-smiles here after defeating the Americans 8-6 VASTERAS, Sweden - While other teams in the VHL made a few big moves this off-season (Tordahl -> NYA - Tukio ->QUE - Osborne/Weber ->SEA - Zhumbayev ->TOR - Young->DAV - Lebedev -> DAV), the Vasteras Iron Eagles stood pat and made little to no moves. Also surprising, is the fact that the Iron Eagles did not participate in the draft (even though they had a pick), a first-time occurrence in the current GM tenure. Even in free agency, the Iron Eagles only made an offer to forward Teemu Lehtinen (who is still unsigned); if Lehtinen decided to sign in Vasteras, a trade would have to be made in order to for Vasteras to fit under the salary cap. That being said, the Iron Eagles managed to roll through the pre-season undefeated, claiming victories over the Americans, Dynamo, Titans, and Legion by scores of 8-6, 4-1, 5-1, and 3-1. If the pre-season is any indication of how the regular season will go, fans in Vasteras should be happy that it appears that the offense is finally clicking for the Iron Eagles.
