Birdman 59
Halifax and Houston have bared witness to a short but already storied history between the two towns. Between being detained at the Halifax airport and effigies of him being burned, Houston defense man Beau Buefordsson has been directly involved in most of the controversy around these two teams. First, our star defense man was traveling before the VHLM draft and was detained at the Halifax airport for "looking too Nordic" and forced to endure many acts of very borderline security work including requesting that his left shoe be removed so that it could be inspected by airport security. Later in the season on game 69, the two teams met for the first time and on Halifax ice. Five minutes into warm ups an effigy of Buefordsson was rolled onto the ice and burned, this tactic however proved to be ineffective as he went on to assist the game-winning goal scored by his line mate Jerry Garcia. Despite being the focus of so such interesting events Halifax has remained mostly silent on the issue except for brief acknowledgements by Halifax general manager McWolf. Know let us move on to non Buefordsson related events. The Halifax 21st's general manager McWolf was recently interviewed and asked about what he thought of the two new expansion teams, the aforementioned Houston Bulls and the Philadelphia Reapers, McWolf was confused and reportedly posessed no knowledge of the two new teams. This was later confirmed by him and he says the oversight has been "corrected," what that means exactly, fans can only guess. Many have been on the fence about what some people say is a budding rivalry others, a one-sided feces-flinging contest, Houston general manager Alexander Pepper was reported saying, "I'm not sure if this stuff is the most intelligent but given who's in that locker room I am not surprised." Also, another Bulls defense man Samuel Sparrow reported that he found evidence of "state-enforced Halifax fandom" but given that the 21st are Halifax's only major sports team this is understandable. This just in, Halifax Stanfield International Airport was closed today because of protestors presence. They were protesting the fact that Beau Buefordsson was allowed entry into the city; protestors were spotted with signs reading, "Keep the Swedes out of FRENCH Canada!" This is unprecedented behavior for Halifax as previously only the city has been involved in the Buefordsson scandal, but obviously the sentiment has spread to a major portion of the population and has only intensified with the mass growth. Previously Buefordsson had snuck into the city via the use of elaborate disguises often utilizing his trusty rat urine. But now that strategy appears to have failed as Buefordsson witch hunts have started to insure everybody is as they should be. Today Buefordsson was escorted out by the rest of the Bulls players and staff spearheaded by Viktor Kozlov, much to the dismay of the crowd however. This has been the latest on the Halifax Houston fiasco and I hope to see you on the next installment of "Where They Stand so Far" Gustav and aleks 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/60337-halifax-and-houston-where-they-stand-so-far/ Share on other sites
