S66 Draft By Position

There are 49 players I am confident will be drafted in the S66 VHL draft. There could be more. My cutoff is 100 TPE.

There are 11 Centers above 100 TPE in the draft. The best is Hunter Hearst Helmsley, with 326 TPE. The average TPE among centremen, only counting those above 100 TPE, is 185. Centers are close to the best group in the class, with the 2nd best average. This is clearly a forward heavy draft.

There are 10 Left Wingers. The #1 LW is Shane Mars, with 295 TPE. The average TPE for LW is 186, good for the highest average in the class.

There are only 8 Right Wingers, the best of whom is Mikko Aaltonen, with 231 TPE. The average RW in this draft has 173 TPE, which is the 3rd highest among the positions. Yes, all 3 forward positions are the 3 highest average in TPE (and it's not really close).

There are 14 defensemen in the draft, the biggest position group. Their average is dragged down partially because there's simply more players. However, the highest TPE defenseman, Aron Nielsen, also has just 192 TPE, which is 13th. Their average is thus only 145, 4th best, and 28 TPE below the average of RWs. (40 and 41 below Cs and LWs, respectively).

There are 6 goalies above 100 TPE, actually quite a decent amount for 1 draft class. The best goalie is Owen May, at 191 TPE. The average for goalies is the lowest, at 141 TPE.

Including every player eligible to be drafted, the numbers and averages are:

C - 51 players, 69 average TPE

LW - 63 players, 61 average TPE

RW - 55 players, 53 average TPE

D - 61 players, 65 average TPE

G - 18 players, 70 average TPE

Interestingly enough, goalies leap to the highest average when you include every player. There are a ton of left wingers below 100 TPE, 53 to be exact, which drops the average significantly. The same also happens for RWs, though there were only 47 players below 100 TPE. There's also 47 defensemen below 100 TPE, but the extra players above 100 balance it out, and it seems like there are more defensemen in the range of 31-100 that slightly mitigate the lower average from 30 TPE players.
