Rayz Funk - Looking forward to the Draft

With the VHLM Draft coming up in the next month, Rayz Funk has his eyes set on a starting role.

 

"With the recent expansion of the VHLM adding three new teams, I have a good feeling I could end up playing as a starting goaltender in the VHLM."

"I have had a couple managers inquire about my experience and skill, I am looking forward to the draft and hoping to see myself picked up early."

 

Funk is a goalie prospect from the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League and played on the Brandon Wheat Kings MMAAAHL team. After picking up the league championship in his final midget season, he is looking to add a VHML title to his awards.

Funk is currently slated to go in the late third round, but with the expansion teams likely needing to pick up a goalie, we could see Funk go as early as a late 1st rounder. This year was the perfect season for him to become eligible and he will be able to get a good amount of playing time wherever he lands after the draft. If he performs well we could see him stepping up into the VHL sooner rather than later.
