K1NG LINUS 145
Shackleford Loses Big in High Stakes Wagers It was reported that several large, burly men were seen chasing down Saskatoon Wild Defenseman Rusty Shackleford in the streets of Saskatoon late last night. We were able to get a comment from him moments later, “I placed a substantial bet on the Yukon Rush to win it all in the playoffs. Unfortunately, my prediction did not quite work out.” Shackleford looked around nervously, but continued. “Now I just need Tampa Bay to hurry up and win their series so I can make back that money.” We also asked Shackleford if his gambling would be something that teams looking to draft him should be concerned about. He responded: “I think that it just shows my competitive nature. I want to win even when I’m not playing, so I put a little bit of money down on who I think is going to win. I think Shawnomir’s dad was known to gamble a bit in his day, so I don’t think it’s a big deal.” Shackleford is rumored to have both a drinking and gambling problem, raising concerns about his discipline and reliability among some scouts.
