Aston Martin Gears up for the S66 VHLM Draft

 

 

On April 28, 2019 the Season 66 VHLM Dispersal Draft will take place in San Diego, the league announced over the weekend. Former British youth hockey standout and prolific scorer of the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League, Aston Martin, is expected to hear his name called at some point on Sunday. Martin is a newly eligible draft prospect having only announced his intent to play in the VHLM last week, but has been gaining some interest around the league leading up to the big draft day.

“This is an exciting time for me and my family. We worked hard and sacrificed a lot for my professional hockey career. To see it finally come to fruition is going to be special. I have been in contact with several VHLM teams that have expressed interest in me and the conversations seemed to have gone very well. The team that drafts me will get a kid that truly loves hockey and I will promise to work my tail off to live up to my draft position. It’s out of my control at this point, I am just looking forward to knowing where I will play next year.”

 

Scouts describe Martin as a dynamic offensive centerman who can skate like the wind and put the puck in the back of the net. It is difficult to say where Martin will be drafted on Sunday, but he definitely has been skyrocketing up draft boards ever since he joined the league. Recently, all VHLM eligible draftees played in a top prospects game as a bit of a showcase game. Martin played first line center for his team and managed to register two goals and two assists.
