Is it really surprising? Owen May finished 3rd in all aspects of his first season in the VHLM.  The Houston Bulls finished third this season in the standings. The Bulls finished 3rd/4th in the playoffs and May finished 3rd in the award race for best goaltender. May had some shows of brilliance but was unable to keep a steady pace as he jumped around in save percentage. A top-heavy defensive core often gave up few attempts but gave up quality attempts as May struggled with opportunities from high danger situations. May was able to record a few shutouts thanks to the defensive effort put in front of him. As the Bulls moved into the playoffs they faced off against Halifax, May kept them in games but could not give his team a series win as they fell in seven games to their hated rivals. Despite poor results, May finished third in the top VHLM Goaltender voting. The only bright side is that it appears May will be the first goaltender off the board
