Michael Johnson has started this season with some mixed reviews. The first game he had made an appearance was in relief to Thorvald Gunnarsson, who is currently the starting goalie for the Halifax 21st. Michael seems to be earning the trust from Thranduil though because since then he’s started in 3 games and overall has a total of 1 win, 2 losses with a .868 SV% with a 4.22 GAA.

Those aren’t the greatest numbers in the world, but keep in mind that 2 of those 3 games he has started were against 2 of the top 3 in the league, Saskatoon and Philadelphia.

I caught up with Michael and asked him how he intends to keep his consistency in the league.

“Obviously I’m frustrated with my play. Although, I’ve noticed that I’ve been focusing on the wrong things in practice and I intend to get my head down and put in the work. With that in mind, I think making sure I make my game day schedule similar so that I can focus on my play. I know thats what I need to do in order to fight for my spot.”
