bagelbitesisbae 71
Vasili Podkolzin is a Russian forward who has incredible, fast moving hands. He has been projected to go 3rd overall for quite some time, and has been able to pick up some decent totals in his career. He doesn't have a very high hockey IQ which puts him at a pretty big disadvantage. As we have seen over the years, players with a low hockey IQ tend to be heavily reliant on their teammates (and usually turn out to be busts). One of those busts being Nail Yakupov (who is also a Russia native). Podkolzin will be playing for SKA Saint Petersburg, and the question will be whether he wants to stays in Russia or go play professional hockey in the U.S.. SKA Saint Petersburg pays their players hefty salaries which is seen as attractive by a lot of different players. You have to look at it, is he too risky to pick? Is his past stats deceiving? He hasn't been getting a lot of recognition because of his recent totals. Put your opinions down in the comments. I would love to hear them!
