Smarch 3,196
Americans update The New York Americans came out of the gates like a bull in a china shop quickly positioning themselves into second place in the North American Conference. Fast forward to the most recent games where the team lost their past two games against the Dynamo and Express and the team finds themselves in third place. The team also has seen their cushion for a playoff position dwindle in the past week as they now sit only seven points ahead of fourth place Seattle Bears. Today we'll look at the leaders on the team and what has gone on with the franchise to this point in the season. Goals For: The Americans currently sit in second in the league for goals scored with eight-two goals scored so far in twenty-six games. Second year forward Xin Xie Xiao is leading the way so far with eighteen goals registered in the twenty-six games, while newcomers Odin Tordahl and Giygas are right behind XXX, sitting second on the club with fourteen goals. Only rookie defenseman Andrey Zadorov is the only member of the Americans who hasn't tallied a goal so far on the season, with fellow rookie Logan Laich being next lowest total with three goals. Power-play: The Americans power-play has been fairly good all season and they currently sit fifth in the league with a 16,96 power-play percentage. Giygas finds himself leading the way for the teams power-play with seven goals and thirteen points. Defenseman Conner Low leads the way with seven assists on the power-play while also sitting second in point right behind Giygas with eleven points. The team will need to amp up their play on with the extra man if they expect to stay in the playoff race deep into the season. Penalty Minutes Per Game: Here is a statistic you don't want to see your team near the top of is this one, but that is the case for the Americans for far this season. The team is taking just under six minors per game so far, which is good enough for second in the league behind the lowly Calgary Wranglers. Defenseman Conner Low is leading the parade to the penalty box for the Americans as he sits second in the league in penalty minutes with seventy-one. Forward Odin Tordahl sits close behind Low with sixty-four penalty minutes on the season. This is one stat that has been hurting the Americans in the past few games and something that has been a hot topic inside the walls of the Gardens. Hits Per Game: A stat that likely goes along with they high amount of penalty minutes the team is taking this season is hits per game. The team has bee throwing their weight around a lot this season so far currently sitting fourth in the league with just over eighteen hits per game. Rookie Logan Laich leads the way for the Americans in the hitting category with 107 hits so far this season, with Low right behind him with 105 hits. The team is built with a lot of players that like to his, but they will need to find the balance between throwing a clean hit and a hit that will land them in the box. Guest Svoboda_3
Content: 3/3 540 words. A pretty good update on the situation in New York with the Americans. It was clean and it flowed fairly well.Grammar: 2/2 I'm reluctant for a slight deduction, but I won't seeing as some of this was rather minor. of fourth = of the fourth china = China 16,96 = 16.96 teams = team's in point = in points they = the bee = been like to his = like to hit Appearance: 1/1 Very patriotic.Overall: 6/6 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/6418-claimedmerica-fuck-yah/#findComment-56736 Share on other sites
