Banana2311 22
A Day in the Life of Block Buster The standard day for Block Buster starts at 4am, every morning he wakes up, stumbles in the dark to find his pads, and heads out to the ice with his trainer to work on his skills. He doesn’t only work on his skills as a goalie but will have a good old crack at improving his shooting and skating. He does this as he feels he learns just as much from looking at the net as apposed to being in between the pipes. This lasts through until 5:30 where he goes back home to have his standard breakfast of 4 Weetbix, 2 slices of Vegemite toast and his chocolate up&go. After this, Block will usually meet up with the team for the morning skate, he watches the team and tries to gather tricks and tips of skating and stopping on the ice. Block Buster takes this training extremely serious and can sometimes get frustrated, annoyed and gets angry if too many goals get past him. Blocks’ temper and disappointment within himself can often lead to him walking off for a 2 minute debrief with the coach, he wants to be the best and letting in any goals is a big let down to him, which he takes personally. Practice with the team can often go until lunch time with no snack stops. Block is always hungry and is named the teams blue whale due to him constantly eaten something. Blocks day often revolves around food and snack stops with him often housing a pack of Tim-Tams on his net alongside his water bottle at training. For lunch Block Buster has a 4 egg omelette with chicken breast and mixed vegetables. His interest in food as well as his extremely good habits in terms of commitment to training and bettering himself as an overall player have kept him in tip top shape his whole life, he doesn’t plan on changing what works just improving it. Block doesn’t respond well to change. The lead up to any game he will always perform the same routine, down to the same pair of undies. His superstition of lucky undies can be detrimental if he forgets to do the washing. Block also feels he needs to be the first player into the locker room, where he can prepare and get his head clear and focused on the game, picture the goals and imagine a shutout for that game. He continues to make sure that all his equipment is laid out before going for a nervous pre game wee. After the game determines how he continues the rituals. A win will see Block head to McDonalds for his celebratory 24 pack of nuggets to eat while watching Netflix. A loss sees a very different side. He will get the footage from the game and re-watch all shots made against him alongside the coach. He feels this will allow him to improve for next game and understand what to do better. He always thinks he is the star of the show, a win means he did good, a loss is on his shoulders and he let the team down. After the Netflix episode or debrief Block heads to bed where he will do it all again tomorrow.
