Michael Johnson was called by a local Malmo radio station after the tough 4-1 loss against the New York Americans. You could tell that he was slightly upset with himself and the way he played. Here is an excerpt of the conversation that was had on the air. 

 

"I'm not trying to make excuses for my play or my team but we're a young group of guys and we're growing together. I got to give the team some major props on how they've played so far and and how hard we're training. One thing I can't fault the team with is how hard we're playing, we're not giving up games easily. I, on the other hand, have to take my chances and work harder in order to push forward and become that number 1 goalie I know I can become."

 

Later on he mentioned...

 

"This loss was tough to take since I feel I didn't step up to the plate and I'm promising myself and the team a strong next game from me."

 

It turns out that Michael Johnson lived up to his promises as he was the 1st star of the game against the New York Americans in a 4-1 victory. He managed 27 saves on 28 shots and a 0.964 save percentage. Let's hope that Michael can pull more out of the hat and gain some major momentum as the season is still kicking on.
