BigBallerFromDownUnder 50
Ben Strom hailing from the land down under has recently finished his first week in Halifax and has given us a quik comment on his experiences. “At the start it was kind of challenging, the time difference between Australia and up here is huge which made it really hard to talk to my friends and family. But we figured out a routine that doesn’t affect my sleep schedule so that issue been resolved. In terms of playing the sticks this has been an awesome week, hockey isn’t the most popular sport in Australia their wasn’t much challenge while playing in my hometown (Melbourne) and even in national championships only a few players could keep up with me; but not in Halifax playing against my team mates has been an eye opening experience we have some really talented players and it has really helped me improve my game even in this week.” Speaking of teammates how has Halifax made you feel welcome? “As soon as I arrived off the plane people were stopping and greeting me asking how my day was, it was great. But I can’t tell if they knew I play hockey or they are just Canadian. My teammates and staff members have been exceptional at making me feel welcome.” Edited September 16, 2019 by BigBallerFromDownUnder Spell check Steve 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/69458-a-storm-rolls-into-halifax/ Share on other sites
