Devise 4,475
Toronto GM Ryan Power recently sat down with media after the team was eliminated by the Seattle Bears in Game 6 of the NA Semi-Finals. Here is what he had to say. Quote Yeah it was a tough loss, but it was a retool season for us. We traded away a good player to start the off-season in Ryan Sullivan Jr and he was exactly the type of player we needed to put us over the edge this season, especially with his position switch. But we had holes everywhere and we needed to address them. All in all in was an up and down season and I think us pushing Seattle so hard when you've seen the kind of success they can have is an exact example of the Jekly and Hyde effect we had this season. I mean if you look at our team against record, Seattle, Helsinki, we played tough hockey against the best teams in the league in most cases. Sadly we just couldn't find our game consistently and wound up giving away just as many points against teams weaker than us. It led to a middling season, but we still had some hope in the playoffs. But we could only halt the Seattle momentum, not snatch it, and that isn't a recipe for success in the playoffs. Our focus now is on the off-season, we'll take some time let our players grow. That is probably the saving grace here the approach we took in the off-season affords us this leeway this season. But a lot of the names we acquired last season the younger players, the Teegan Glovers, Matthew Kais and Brian Strongs of the world are starting to really show improvements. We still got a solid D core. We'll be back next season, at least, and I can confirm I'll be buying for sure this off-season.
