Speed 126
Rookie Season Review : Dredge The surprising standout on the explosive squad coming out of Yukon, Willie Dredge, is simply not happy with his rookie season. During his season in Yukon, he was able to surprise his peers with his offensive production in the VHLM. Transitioning into his first season as a VHL'er, nobody knew what to expect when Dredge was picked 19th overall into the Prague Phantoms with a lot of his peers from Yukon. To some, his production as a rookie may seem well, given Dredge was able to muster a 44 point season as a rookie, on a very fresh Prague team. But to Willie, this was not a season he is proud of, with his statements on the matter, "I expected more out of myself. I feel it was more of a learning moment for me, I need to be able to compete with these seasoned players. I know there are many factors that go into success, but I need to do better, my coached and team expect more from me going forward and I plan on giving them the production that they need, and more. I will be grinding this off-season." Dredge was 11 points shy of his previous career points record of 53 when he set it last season with Yukon in the VHLM. On the other hand, the Prague Phantoms organization has much to look forward to, with a young core that is bound to be back next season with some fire. Prague has won the lottery and has the draft's 1st overall pick, which rumor's have it, Prague's GM is open to offers from other teams. We will see what will happen and continue to monitor the success of Dredge and his teammates. zepheter 586
Hell of a rookie season point total compared to some of the others around the league. Hopefully it should only get better from here on. Good luck this season.
