The VHL is honoring unsung hero's and I think most if not all backup goalies are worth mentioning, but in this article I'm going to focus on just one, the 5'10" 150lb goalie, Clayton Park.

Clayton Park is currently in his 4th season and playing with his 3rd team, and he has provided solid goaltending each season, never falling bellow a .900  save percentage by season's end. Park wasn't a backup in his first season playing 60 games with Seattle before being traded to Vancouver, a 4th team he would never play for before being traded yet again, this time to Riga. Park stayed in Riga for 2 seasons and would have his best career season with the team in Season 68, posting a .924 save percentage, a 2.01 goal against in 20 games.

Despite his great performance Riga would move on from him and he was traded for the 3rd time in his career to the Nighthawks. So far this season he's played 9 games and has 3 wins and 4 losses with a 901 save percentage. While He may have fallen back down from his amazing numbers last season, it's clear Park is a real fighter, doing his best to provide whatever team he is playing with a solid backup. I hope this journeyman of a goaltender doesn't find himself out of the VHL anytime soon.
