Downey Coming of Age in Wolves Playoff Matchup

Vancouver, British Columbia – Vancouver Wolves defenseman Jeff Downey got off to a slow start this season but after refocusing his training onto the passing side of his game his offensive game has taken off. This could not be more evident than it has been in their current playoff matchup against the Toronto Legion. Downey has grabbed six assists in the five games played and has been a pivotal part of the team taking a 3-2 series lead into game six.

‘It has been great. I talked to a good friend of mine, Jerry Garcia, about halfway through the season and he gave me some points on what I should do to turn my game around. I took that advice to heart and the second half of my season has by far been the best part of my career so far. The playoffs are where it has all really come together and I think it will only go up from here. The puck is feeling great on my stick and my passes are finding holes they weren’t before.’

Although the Wolves hold a 3-2 series lead against Toronto they will likely want to close the series out in game six to avoid the stress of a game seven.
