jRuutu 2,483
S69 Commissioner cup winner was decided earlier today when Team Bana went against Team Diamond_Ace in a three-game series. I was one of the lucky ones who got to play in the games. Who plays where was decided by a draft before the games, I got picked by Team Bana at 39th overall, second last, but not last. I was happy to make the team, unfortunate turn came before game one when management ordered me to actually play, I thought I would just get to watch the games from the press box, but sometimes these things happen. Need to be ready at all times. Game one was an intense battle, Team Bana won 12-8. Patrik Tallinder scored disgusting six goals for Team Bana, he was the key player behind our win. As you can imagine in a three game series the game two is massive. We all knew what we need to do and I think it showed, we were more ready and wanted the win more. In the end Team Bana won 13-6. Patrik Tallinder once again firing away, five goals with eight shots. At this point the series was as good as over, there was no way team D_A can come back, but game three was still played for the fans especially. Team D_A had a lot to prove after two not so good games, they were the better team in game three, won 11-3. Edwin THE Encarnacion scored a whopping six goals from the blueline, not a bad day for a defender. Team Bana won the series 2-1 and is the new Commissioner cup winner! This championship is the first thing I have won during my VHLM career, nice little milestone and something that will hopefully give a little confidence boost on the daily grind while playing in the juniors. Got a little taste of success, up to me to keep going and hopefully get another taste in the future. Despite the team playing well, I did not play that big of a role in the games, mostly played on the fourth line averaging around seven minutes of playing time per game. Best game for me personally was the game three, managed to get three hits in that one, which in my opinion also shows that when others take it easy, I´m one of the players who keep on going out there. Yea sure it was a friendly game in a way, but this is hockey - hits belong to the sport and I´m not going to stop from hitting just because it´s not exactly in the spirit of certain game. Anyways I´m glad they put me in the lineup and I got to play in some role. Hopefully some scouts saw me out there in game three and took notes. Never know how tight the race between some players will be when a team decides who they draft in the VHL draft after the season is over, could be the smallest of differences, solid game like game three from me does not hurt at least.
