SASKATOON HIRES KELLY, REASSIGNS BOOMCHENKO

May 5th, 2014 - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

In an effort to change the culture in Saskatoon, the Wild organization has relieved Vladimir Boomchenko of his Assistant General Manager duties within the club and have brought in former VHLer Malcolm Kelly to assume the duties of the Assistant to the General Manager, a position currently occupied by Brett Slobodzian. Boomchenko, based on his own agenda, may assume the open Advisory role position.

"We [saskatoon] gave Boomchenko the opportunity to finish out the season with us as Assistant General Manager. We owed that to him for all of his work with the hockey club. We feel as if it is imperative to have a different outlook and as a team in transition, an outsiders point of view was at the utmost importance. We would like to thank Boomchenko for all of his efforts with the club in his previous areas and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Vladimir, albeit in a different capacity. At this time, I would like to welcome Malcolm Kelly to the organization." - Brett Slobodzian, General Manager of the Saskatoon Wild
