The world junior championship started last night, Team Europe started their tournament by playing against Canada. The game was fairly tight despite teams shooting in a total of 63 shots, Europe shot 43 and Canada 20 times. Perhaps quite surprisingly Canada was the winner, they won the game 3-1. Not the best possible game in the scoring goals department for Team Europe.

 

Jim Bob was the only player to score for Team Europe, this is what he had to say after the game:

I think we played well, had the shots to score more, but it was just not our night I guess. Canada's goalie was really good today and kept them in the game, especially in the first period where we had almost 30 shots. We should have ended the game right there, but could not and this is the result. At this level, if you don´t use your chances, that usually means the other team is going to and they will win, but we will learn from this and be better next game.

 

Team Europe´s tournament continues with two games against Team Asia before playing against United States of America. The Americans won their first game against Team World 6-4.
