Guest
(S63) Ryan Kastelic. The hall of fame, a shrine where players of the past are remembered for there greatness and impact on the league. Every child who plays a sport dreams of entering “The Hall of Fame” yet so few do. So, what does it take to enter the sacred halls and be enshrined forever? Is it how many points you score? How many assists? How great of a teammate you are? It is all of those and none of those. To enter the Hall, you need to simply impact the league in a positive way while also dominating on the ice. You need to be the pinnacle of achievement and be someone that a player or member strives to mimic. So today I want to mention one player who I feel is destined for the Hall in his near future. The man that we will be making a case for is Ryan Kastelic.Currently Ryan Kastelic is in his FINAL season in the Victory Hockey League and is playing for the Riga Reign. So why should he enter the hall? Well for starters lets talk about the stats, the thing that everyone obsesses over. Kastelic only has six hundred thirteen points, compared to other hall of famers that’s a low number. He averaged seventy-five points a season since he got called up to the main league. Having only two thirty goal seasons may not seem impressive but were his numbers really shine is in the assist column. Four hundred forty-four of six hundred thirteen points are him passing it off to his teammates, again low number. My argument is not base don stat and play on the ice (as amazing as that has been) So those were his regular season career stats, nut how did he perform in the playoffs? Well for one thing the Riga Reign was in the playoffs every season that Ryan was on the ice. One man does not make a team obviously but with a career Plus Minus of Ninety-Three he is a man you want out there. Riga had won the continental cup in his first season in the Victory Hockey League. He managed to net Ten points in his first Run in the post season, after three seasons of mediocre playoff success he was right back in form averaging thirteen in last three trips. So, I have proven he is reliable on the Ice. My argument is off the ice performance. Every time I have spoken to @Enorama he has been NOTHING but amazing towards me, ignoring my history he is always there to lend a helping hand whenever I have a question. His enthusiasm to make sure I know my options and maximize what I can accomplish has been top notch. He is a people person, always there when needed. So aside from his stats on the ice, and his behavior off it. Ryan Kastelic is one of these people the Hall should have. He is everything you want from a player and a member. Someone who is approachable, kind, informative and generally an awesome person. That is what @Enorama brings to the likes of the Victory Hockey League Hall of Fame. So if I had a vote, I would vote YES. 539 words Edited February 25, 2020 by Guest Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/78044-trip-to-the-hall-theme-week/ Share on other sites
