Mexico City was a long shot to do anything in the playoffs, and they definitely came up with a lacklustre performance against the Lynx. With two close games, and two blowouts, the Kings were sent packing. Latrell Mitchell, a young up-and-coming defensemen from Australia didn't seem too bothered by it in his post game interview, "This season for me was just to get used to playing on ice against some of the best out there. I've realised that I've got a long way to go before I can compete at all in this league, and I'm hoping to train hard in the off-season before I get drafted next season." The young defensemen had just 4 assists in 18 games in the regular season with a terrible -12 rating on the back end. The playoffs didn't show any better, only able to grab one assist and a -2 rating. Expectations weren't too high when the Kings took a chance on the kid but were desperate for any help on the back end, and unfortunately Latrell just wasn't the answer to go on a cinderella run in Mexico. "You know what mate? Was a good time meeting the players and the front office were fantastic in helping me find my way. Next season will be a whole lot better, I can promise that. But until then, we're in fucking Mexico, let's go find the worm at the bottom of a couple bottles of tequila."
