The Mississauga Hounds have been caught attempting to pull a "Pavel Bure" and draft an inelgible player.  It was generally thought that defenseman Ken Fury was inelgible for the draft yet Hounds GM Berocka drafted him with the 57th overall pick.  "We liked what we saw and had some information that his reported birth data and actual birth date were not the same" Berocka said "We thought, and still do, that he was an elgible player."

"everybody would have taken him earlier. We assumed he was not eligible... you've got to give the Hounds credit for doing their homework." Said another GM on the condition of anonymity.  Apparently the information was incorrect as League Commish Diamond_bump declared the pick void. Calls to the league were not returned due to the commish having "a few too many of those Coronas" and being "socially distant" after the draft.

As for Mr. Fury, he plans to go the route of UDFA for the upcoming season.  "I feel honored to have been selected as that shows that the Hounds belive in me but at the same time it's a process and we have to move and do what's best for ourselves" The lumbering defenseman said "I plan to keep open lines of communication with all teams, including the hounds.  I just need to do what I can to take my game to the next level"
