JeffD 648
Vancouver Wolves Make Few Off Season Changes Vancouver, British Columbia – While many people say don’t try to fix what isn’t broken – and Vancouver is once again viewed as a potential favourite this season – is it really something that can work this coming season when it hasn’t for the past few? They have added defenseman Griff Manzer to the back end who has spent the last three seasons playing for the Philadelphia Reapers in the VHLM. Manzer was originally a 10th overall selection in the S69 VHL entry draft and looks to replace the departing Kevin Low on the backend. Their second, and last, new player that will be making his Vancouver debut this season is second line centerman Bert Meyers. Meyers is being brought in purely as a faceoff specialist on the second line and really doesn’t have the skillset to contribute offensively to a high degree. The journeyman center has spent the last four seasons bouncing around various European squads before landing in Vancouver. Time will tell if the additions will make the needed difference for a Vancouver team that has struggled to find playoff success since their S67 championship run.
