Lewis Dawson had a very slow start this season but since the first stretch of non-exciting games, he has played better. Dawson registered 1 point in his first 12 games and that begged the question over if he was ever going to develop into a solid player or if he would be stuck on the 4th line the rest of his career. Since then he has been able to produce and put in some goals. His 11 points on the season now are os much more pleasant to see for him and for his team and management. Malmo has lacked scoring at times and having him fire away and get to producing has been a welcoming sign. Next step is taking a defensive growth spurt and being able to carry the load in both ends of the ice. Dawson was a first round talent who saw himself drafted in the back half of the first round, so the skill has to be there; whether he can put it altogether and compete at a pro level is still questioned.
