Guest
Helsinki Herald May 16th, 2014 Helsinki, Finland Raymond goes Blue Only a few days ago, the VHL Entry Draft finished. Many players went to the teams that everyone had predicted. Well, almost everyone. Winger Chris Raymond was slated to go eighth overall to the Cologne Express but, instead, Raymond was selected by the Helsinki Titans with the seventh overall pick. For everyone else, this is not huge news. For Chris Raymond and the Kachur player agency, however, this is a gold lining on a great season. “I've been following Helsinki closely since I started playing hockey, even in other leagues. It is a dream of mine to play here and at the draft that dream came true”. The young winger had a great defensive season in the Minors with the Minot Gladiators, netting sixty two points in seventy three games with forty eight of those points being assists. Raymond at the VHL Entry Draft. A few days after the draft we caught up with Alex Kachur, who is the agent for Raymond, and also the new gold medal winner as the General Manager of Team Canada in this year's World Cup. We asked him about what Raymond going to Helsinki meant: “We (Raymond) had a long conversation before the draft about the possibility of him being picked by Helsinki, I know the General Manager personally from dealing with him during the Greg Glass trade frenzy. He is a classy guy and a real professional.” With Helsinki in a rebuild mode and picking up a few key young players who are talented, there is no doubt that in a few season Helsinki will be back to competing for the Championship once more. Raymond at Training Camp With the focus now shifting back to the new recruits in the VHLM, it goes without saying that Chris Raymond will be sent down to hopefully help lead the younger talent to glory. As for Helsinki, they will be hoping to pick up future assets to surround Chris Raymond with on the forward lineup for next season. It has been stated inside the Helsinki management that Chris is the future of the forward core. With the track record of the Kachur agency, it is a huge gamble on the Titans franchise to put such faith into a player like Raymond, but, he seems to be determined. “I'm excited to be here and to have been drafted to such a legendary Franchise. Vince Wong and myself had a meeting last night that lasted many hours. He laid out what was expected of me this season and the seasons moving forward from here. I am ready to help lead this team to a cup and you will see a different player then you ever have before.” The future looks bright for the Helsinki Titans, all that remains now is how will all of them work with each other? Can they all get along and can they all stay active. If both are yes then expect to see the Titans in the finals in a few seasons. Senior Admin Will 4,662 Posted May 17, 2014 Senior Admin Share Posted May 17, 2014 Content: 3/3 509 words. This was a good read. The draft was excited, and I'm looking forward to playing alongside Raymond (as well as all the other titties) for many seasons to come. Hopefully Raymond is just the guy to turn things around for the Kachur agency. Surely, they will be really working to groom Raymond into being their first true legend.
