He grew up on an average size farm with about 150 cows. None of Jacob's family was into sports, so he decided to change that. He started playing hockey at 12 years old. You may ask why so old well, Jacob was forced to work on the farm until he was in middle school. So, already Jacob was way behind in his hockey career, But that only fueled him to work smarter not harder. He started taking a bunch of private lessons and eventually at age 17 he joined the Kelowna Rockets in the WHL and in his first season he posted a 965 save percentage and a 0.65 goals-against average with 5 goals and 10 assists. Jacob's family You may recognize the last name, Tonn. That would be because Jordan Tonn, Jacob's brother played in the VHL for 5 seasons. He was a determined brother that really made Jacob work. Jacob has another 4 brothers. Its a busy family but that only makes Jacob work harder. Captain Material Being a goalie it may be sometimes hard to gain your teammate's respect. Jacob has worked all throughout his life To do exactly that, gain teammates respect.
