ROOKIE745 604
reporter: We recently had a chat with the rookie goaltender of the Toronto Legion, Jaxx Hextall, what is like leaving British Columbia and moving to Halifax when he signed his contract to play with the team in Season 69, and followed that up by going to Minnesota before coming back to Canada when he started this season with the Legion. Here's a quote from the interview. "It has been quite the adventure, I've lived on the west coast my whole life so to suddenly move so far to the east was strange but fun as well to learn the new culture and see how things differ over here compared to where I've lived. I really did enjoy my time in Halifax and I wish my stay there was longer. I won't lie when I joined the VHLM I wanted to play for a Canadian team and I was happy my first time was Canadian but when I had to move to Minnesota, man I can't tell ya how nervous I was. I have nothing against US teams, or teams from other countries, hell I wanted to be a Dragon for quite a while there but playing in your home country is always nice, to be fighting for that cup for your country. I am happy that out of all the US teams that could have picked me up, it was the Storm, the state of hockey as it is known and helped me feel like I was still in Canada at times with all the hockey stuff I saw there. I know I'll always treasure my time in Minny. Coming back home though, to Canada at least is nice, even though I'm still not back on the west coast. A great fan base here in Toronto and I love it" (word count 300) Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/81065-jaxx-hextalls-travels-from-home/ Share on other sites
