The VHL is an exciting and immersive experience unlike any other. The ability to create a player and watch them progress as you get deeper into the community is so much fun. The camaraderie that you build among your teammates and the rest of the community is spectacular. I was really drawn in by how different it is. I had never seen anything like this before and it really captivated me. I find it so fun to see how my player and team do each game and watching them grow. It is so immersive and I love it. I am eager to earn TPE for my player so that he gets better, and seeing the effort that others put into the league to make it better is so inspiring. So cool to see how the community comes together to help grow that league and really make it exciting. The fact that we do drafts, and World Jr. Championships is so exciting and it gives you something to play for and to look to achieve. Here are my thoughts on how to enhance the experience even more for new players:

 

1. STREAMLINE TUTORIAL: I think one of the main things that turn people away is understanding how TPE works, and how you claim it. When I first joined I was very confused by all of this. Something that may help new player become familiar with it is if we could create a bit of a streamline tutorial for them to work through when they first join. The tutorial can have step by step tasks that teach new players the basics and completion of the task can result in TPE. This gives them a reward to work towards as well as teaching them what the VHL is all about. However for this to be effective it needs to be simple and easy to follow and all in one place, so they don't get lost and just give up. I believe this would really enhance the experience for new players. 

 

2. EXPANDED SHOP: This one is a simple addition that could add a lot more. Adding new things to buy from the shop, such as more bulk TPE options could be really fun.

 

3. USING SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS: I'm not sure if we are recruiting on platforms such as instagram, twitter or facebook, but if we aren't I think it could be a really good way to recruit other people. There are so many people on those platforms for hours and I'm sure we would see our recruitment numbers go up exponentially. There are lots of ways to promote your page and get people to see what we are recruiting for. We could also use things like twitter for the actual league itself. With insiders that break new sports news about our teams, and GM's that run their own team accounts. I think it would just be a fun way to add more life to the league. It could even be a new job for people in the VHL: Media Director. If someone comes across it, it could peak their interest and end up recruiting someone too!
