How to Get Recruited/Scouted for the VHL

If you are playing hockey in high school, college or with a junior hockey team, then you are probably trying to figure out how you can get noticed by the scouts and recruitment team to play in the VHL.

Getting scouted for hockey to play in the Victory Hockey League can be a very challenging task, especially if you do not know what to do. In this article I will make it easier on all potential recruits and give tips on how you can get recruited or scouted. The only way VHL scouts will notice you is by bringing your A-game every night and playing well at the highest level possible. VHL has a dedicated scouting team which travels to all corners of the earth and posts messages on websites such as reddit, twitter and facebook to try and find that next VHL star.

Our VHL scouts look a few things when deciding if you will end up being a superstar in the VHL. You have to be able to play good hockey, you have to train hard each week to earn that TPE and you have to try to stay active in the league. Here are three extra tips that can help you get scouted for hockey and realize your dream of playing in the Victory Hockey League

1. Get Noticed in Hockey Tryouts

Regardless of the hockey team that you are currently playing with, always train hard for each game as if that is the only chance you have to impress a scout. You never know, even if scouts are not attending the game, someone else might notice your exceptional talent and invite a scout to come and watch you in action.

VHL scouts will usually not let themselves be known when they are watching, just so that they can see you in your element without any extra pressure. They might also hear about you through online websites and forums and may reach out to you

You should also believe in yourself and stay active season through season. If you earn those TPE you will have good success in the league and may even break out into being a superstar. You may not play in a region where hockey is popular; however, this should not dampen your spirit. If you are a good player, and badly want to play in the VHL, then the sky should be your limit. We have players from all over the world and you can see this being represented in the current World Junior Championships.

2. Market yourself

With advancements in technology, you certainly do have at your disposal some of the most sophisticated marketing tools ever. For instance, you can create a highlight reel showcasing your hockey skills and show it off to potential scouts. Maybe you are good at writing? Well market yourself by writing a scouting section on yourself or maybe even a biography about your life leading up to you wanted to play for the VHL. There are many options you can use to get yourself noticed by the VHL Scouts, Recruiters and players.

If you are unsure what to do, you can also find a contact list on the VHL website and reach out to any members with questions on how to best get recruited to the league.

3. Respond to the posts

Maybe you have never played hockey or maybe you don’t know if this is the league for you? Well all it takes is to respond to one of the many recruitment posts posted all over the internet and a member or recruitment staff will answer any questions for you. Don’t be shy and take that leap to join one of the better hockey communities out there!
