Jacques Lafontaine was spotted wearing a white turned black helmet and his old red and green pads from his days in Gatineau and Saskatoon. He has decided to bring out the old gear to boost his confidence. Every hockey fan knows how superstitious hockey players can be. Jacques Lafontaine could not grow a beard but even if he did, he probably would have kept if.

"I'm no Sidney Crosby when it comes to my superstitions but I have my superstitions of my own. I decided to try to ditch them this year but I guess I might have to bring them back. This is the playoffs and every single thing matters. I don't care if they don't actually help with my game. I feel like they do and that's all that matters."

Those who were fans of him back in Saskatoon know about the tale of the plain white helmet that was turned black by his teammates constantly covering it with sharpie.

"Yeah, those were some fun days. I might have to switch back to that helmet full time."
