A quick interview with Han Jae-Kuk:

 

Q: You have been quite busy in developing your skills prior to the VHLM draft, do you feel you are a 1st or 2nd round talent?

 

A: No no, if I had a preference I would like to be the last pick in the draft. That way there are no expectations placed upon me, and I can kinda just go out there and develop and hopefully become a good player. Being a 1st or 2nd round pick is an honor, and I just don’t think that I’m worthy of that. 

 

Q: Do you have a preferred landing spot in the draft? Maybe some connections in the VHLM?

 

A: Nah, I’ll be happy to just get drafted at all. I’m happy to move to whatever city, I'm just ready to get to work! Regarding connections, I don’t really know anyone in the league right now, and honestly no one has reached out. I’m not too concerned I’ve always been a loner anyway, I like my solitude! 

 

Q: You recently talked about how the VHL and VHLM should have more Asian representation, what would that look like? 

 

A: I think the main thing right now would be to get a team in Asia. Whenever expansion is brought up I always see these suggestions about cities in America, or Canada. The VHL and VHLM are very western focused, it would do some good to put some teams in Asia and even Australia maybe. There are untapped markets just lying around out there. 

 

Q: Anything else you’d like to add before we finish up?

 

A: Just be safe everyone, its a tough time but just remember to stay home and stay healthy. Thanks to all the medical workers for everything you do!
