Its official, the Ottawa Lynx are the S71 Founders Cup winners. It wasn't much of a surprise to see the Lynx lift the cup this time around as they dominated the regular season. Ending the season the Lynx had been slightly shakey, as after adding on Su to their team they dropped a few games, one being to the ever terrible Houston. Some pointed fingers at a loss of locker room chemistry, others thought Su was purposing sandbagging. Despite the rocky finish, the Lynx were still able to secure the first seed for the playoffs with a record of 59-12-1, finishing 10 points ahead of their closest competition, Yukon Rush. Fortunately, the Lynx were able to stabilize in the playoffs having an expected sweep of Halifax in the first round. In the second round, they faced their toughest opponents of the playoffs in the Marlins. Despite the resistance, the Lynx finished them off in 6 to meet their rivals the Rush. With a regular-season spilt of 2-1 in favour of the Lynx, fans were expecting a tough series but for Ottawa to finish on top. They were right about 1 of those things. Ottawa swept the Rush to claim the S71 championship trophy. Now it's time to see if they can do it again in the next season.
