Hextall signs long term with the Legion, Killinger moves to defense

Recommended Posts

Season 72 may prove to be a challenging one for the Toronto Legion depending on how the off season goes for the team and what if any free agents they can pick up. Thankfully there is some hope as goaltender Jaxx Hextall signed a long term extension with the team, 5 seasons which would bring all the way to his 8th and final season since players can only play up to 8 in the VHL. The signing comes with a full no movement clause as well meaning general manger Peace must have a lot of faith in the young goaltender. We were able to get a quick phone call in to ask Hextall about his extension.

"It was an easy decision, while we know there's still another rough season or 2 ahead of us, the culture in the locker room is great, and Peace works very closely with his players. Part of it was me not wanting to go back on what I said before but there was also never any doubt in my mind of wanting to stay with the team, I look forward to the future with the team and playing in front of the fans for a long time coming"

In other news Erik Killinger has moved to defense for the team. The defense will definitely be a big concern for the team in season 72 and if GM peace can't find more defensemen for the team Hextall may be in for another heavy shooting gallery season.
