The defending champion Ottawa Lynx have a lot of work to do if they hope to repeat.  At the half way point of the season they are middle of the pack.  Instead of winning nearly every game like last season the Lynx are struggling to stay above .500.  In thirty four games this season the Lynx are a modest 18-16.   Despite a 2 game positive in the win column they have 4 more goals against then for.

Also seeing a reduced season is one if last years best defenseman.  Defenz Mann is offensively still performing well 16 goals and 34 assists for a total of 50 points.  Where we really see the struggle is his plus minus rating.  Last year Mann lead the league with a + of over 100.  This year he is only a plus 2.  That is a far cry from what we expected in his second season in the minors.  Ottawa has had a lot of roster turnover this season though.  Their new young prospects are getting better everyday though so not all hope is lost.
