SweatyBeaver 132
Marc LeGrosse, The Belgian Bugle July 3rd, 2020. The scene at the Brussels Airport is sheer pandemonium. Hundreds of men and women of all ages are surrounding the gates as a small plane lands in the runway. One would not be faulted for thinking that this was a huge pop star or perhaps a world famous actor. It’s better; it is Gregg Stallion. The hockey star has just arrived back home after a disappointing first round playoff exit but that has not caused the crowds to diminish at all. The cheers are deafening as Stallion exits out of the plane to the screams of thousands of his fan who chant his name and break out into rapturous applause. Readers who are not from Belgium may be confused as to why a VHL minor league player is so popular and was receiving more attention than the Beatles when they landed in America. The answer is simple, Stallion is the single most famous Belgian in the world and has become a national icon. Up until this point the most famous Belgians in the world had been dead for two centuries, but Stallion has brought Belgium back into the mainstream and has become the face of the country. Statues are being built in every Belgian city over five thousand in population and to date twenty three schools and two colleges have been named in Stallion’s honor. Stallionmania is alive and well in Belgium and as everyone who is witnessing Stallion descend from his private plane screams in joy and admiration there is a sudden pause. Stallion turned to the crowd and soon it is silent, babies who had once been crying were now perfectly still in their parents arms. Dogs stood idly by their masters side refusing to make a noise as everyone looked to the Belgian Beauty. A podium was placed in front of Stallion and he methodically went to the podium and looked at the crowd. Every channel in Belgium was now focused on this moment. There was no evening news, sports or children’s programming every citizen of Belgium was waiting with baited breath as to what Stallion would say. Stallion took a deep breath as the crowd watched with silent anticipation. Even this unbiased reporter was caught up in the moment. It felt like a millennium had went by as we waited. What was he going to say? Finally after the people could barely wait any longer Stallion looked into the crowd. A gentleman that Stallion made direct eye contact with fainted on the spot, no one assisted him in fear that they would miss what Stallion had to say. "I, Greggory Wylliam Stallion am announcing my entrance into the 2024 Belgian political election for President." The entire audience at the airport broke out into hysterics. Many people were weeping and some broke out into singing the national anthem. Several of us stormed the gate and knocked it over pouring onto the tarmac and lifting Stallion up into the air as fireworks shot in the distance. The current Belgian president called for a national holiday in honor of Stallion shortly after learning that he was going to be running up against Stallion in the next election. “My vote is for Stallion, he is the leader Belgium deserves and needs. I would be blessed to have the magnificent man replace me.” Stallion is already polling at 99.2%, despite not even mentioning his platform and what he wants to accomplish. Many are now calling for the government to move the election to 2021 so we do not have to wait until 2024 to have Gregg Stallion as the president of our glorious country. As a reporter I am supposed to be unbiased, but how can I be when Gregg Stallion is concerned? My vote is for Stallion in the next election and anyone who does not vote for him will have their houses looted by other staff members of the Belgian Bugle. -Marc LeGrosse, Graduate of University of Brussels and in possession of many political degrees and I would be great at helping to run the country and I am one of you biggest fans Gregg, can I call you Gregg? Andre LeBastard 112
Super article man, you got my vote! Plus, I mean honestly, who doesn't like a little sweaty beaver now and then? My old eyes appreciate the fact that you increased the font size and I do like the inclusion of the picture. I'm sure that the very sexily sartorial Marc gets sweaty beaver. I like colour added to articles and I do like big headlines too, so that would just make the post even better! 8/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/86608-gregg-stallion-announces-bid-for-2024-presidential-election/#findComment-761029 Share on other sites
Moderator Baozi 1,658 Posted July 9, 2020 Moderator Share Posted July 9, 2020 Haha this was a nice interesting one to see. Always good to off topic stuff for a good chuckle. Content looks good, formatting looks good. The only comment here i would say is you could make use of different formatting styles like italics and bolds to indicate speech or thoughts just to separate it out from the normal part of the article. Could also use another pic or some colour but overally good work! 9/10 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/86608-gregg-stallion-announces-bid-for-2024-presidential-election/#findComment-761072 Share on other sites
