The off season is on and it has been exciting already. Zamboni Driver arrived in Finland this week after a loss in the VHLM finals. He is happy to have a fresh start but will not forget the fun he had with Mexico. That was a fun team and gave Driver the tools he needs to make the advancement to the VHL pro level. Helsinki lost star goalie Michael Johnson to early retirement so Driver was put on the spotlight as maybe a rookie starter. Jubo the Titans GM was wise and asked Driver his feelings of this. Driver said he feels like he needs a season to experience the league and get a few games in as a back up before taking the starting job. Jubo made a trade for Samuel Ross. Ross is a free agent from Davos and was acquired for a backup goalie and 4th round pick. This trade gives Helsinki extra time to try to sign Ross to a contract. Driver is sure this deal will happen as Ross would be a starter on a good Europe conference team. This means Driver will have his wish as back up for at least one season.
