DarkSpyro 939
 Despite battling through some personal matters outside the VHL, we noticed that Jimmy Spyro decided to take part in the World Cup as the 1-B goaltender to Seattle Bears starting net minder Rayz Funk for Team Canada. Even though Team Canada had a poor showing this time around, Spyro ended up being called upon for 6 games going 3-3-0 to win the only games Canada could muster. Even more impressive was his 2.68 GAA which was the 3rd best through the round robin, a 0.922 save % that placed him 2nd among all other goalies, and in his 6 starts he earned the 2nd star of the game twice. This wouldn’t have happened if there weren’t some rumblings of maybe switching Spyro in for Rayz who started the tournament as the team’s 1-A, but wasn’t playing like his old godlike self. In his 4 games he had a 3.54 GAA, his save % was 0.885, and held an unfortunate 0-4-0 record. The decision to make the switch was difficult to make and to witness, as Rayz Funk is one of the greatest goalies of all time. It may not have payed off for the team to make it out of last place but if anything else, Spyro proved that he is something special in the net and keeping an eye on his highlight reels going forward are going to be a treat. To close out this article, it was a tough break for Team Canada to end up in last place, but they did manage to give us this shining moment from their roster for some silver lining.  (268 words) Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/87495-spyro-came-to-play-in-the-s72-world-cup-for-team-canada/ Share on other sites
