We are back for what may be the second last time or even last time for our annual interview with Eagles.

Greg Eagles days in the VHL are numbered as his contract runs out this season and if he signs next season, then that would be his last as per league mandated rules. So let's get on with the questions

R: Hi Greg, First off congrats on the cup win, how does it feel?
G: It feels great, I finally got a cup as a starter and won all the goalie awards so I think it has been a pretty good career

R: What are your plans for the future? will this be the last season for Eagles or do you have enough to play out one more season?
G: It's hard to say, I guess we will see how I handle this season. I'm getting older so it's a lot harder to play at 100% game in and game out. I would love to play one more season whether its in Riga or hitting FA for the first time ever but in the end it's all going to depend on how I feel and if there is any interest in my services

R: When will you make this decision?
G: Well I think I have to decide by the trade deadline. I will speak with our management team in Riga and see what they have planned for me. If nothing planned then I will have to see if there will be any interest in an aging goalie in FA. Right now I am just focusing on my game. I want to win another cup and if possible some more awards, so I am putting in 100% for my team

R: Do you think there will be interest in FA if things in Riga don;t work out?
G: Tough to say, lots of teams have young up and coming goalies who need game time and I don't want to be the old guy coming in and taking away their ice time. It would also be interesting to finish out a career in one of the expansion teams, always nice to be a part of that history and if it happens to be Warsaw then I can retire in my home country of Poland

R: If it was up to you, would you stay in Riga or try to test FA for the first time?
G: I have never done FA and to be honest at my age I don't think I would want to go through that. My intention is to stay with Riga until the league forces me out. I have come to love the City and I am happy with the team, players and managements direction. They have setup a culture of winning and any player would love to be a part of that.

R: Last question, we have seen regression hit players throughout the league and some don't bounce back...how have you prepared for this?
G: Well, I know regression comes with age and I just always make sure to put in the work and train. Some players stop training into there older ages but not me, I keep training to make sure I am always at my best. I think my stats show it.

R: That's all the time we have, thanks again Greg, we always appreciate this annual interviews
G: Anytime and hopefully we will get to do this again next season!
