Opening day of the season was also the first VHL game for Zamboni Driver. He is the backup for the Helsinki Titans this season behind Sam Ross. It was a cool feeling to get the nod on the first game for the team this season. Driver was facing the Prague Phantoms and was challenged with 45 shots. He was able to stop 41 of those shots and the Titans won the game 5 to 4. The Titans star defenseman Erik Summers led all players with a great offensive game with 1 goal and 3 assists. He was a plus 3 and his new defensive partner Spencer Elsby was a plus 4. The Titans let a lot of shots on Driver but it was the first game and the rust will be worn off in no time. Driver will take advantage of the starts he gets when Ross is given a break to rest. It is the plan to be the starting goalie for Helsinki starting next season.
