jRuutu 2,492
Helsinki Titans have played great hockey lately, last night the team won Toronto 6-5, which meant the Titans has now won six games in a row! Despite the positive run, some experts are wondering what is the deal with Jim Bob? Bob is perhaps one of the key players of the team, third in TPA ranking among all the current Titans, but he has looked sluggish out there at times and it has shown in his ice time, last night he played around 19 minutes and the same trend has been going on for some time now, which has sparked speculations on if Jim is playing while injured? Icetime and how he has looked on the ice favor that theory, but then again the game against Vancouver a few nights ago showed that whatever the injury could be - it can't be that serious. Bob had 8 hits, five shots, shorthanded goal and he was given the first star of the game. Helsinki Sports News columnist Larry Johnston mentioned in his article that some rumors coming from Helsinki suggest that Jim Bob is not injured, he is only faking an injury in hopes to reduce the odds of getting traded before the trade deadline. Apparently Bob was seen running away from the bouncers of a local bar in the middle of the night last Saturday. No official reports or videos are available, but the Vancouver game with the fact that Bob by the sound of it is able to run just fine suggests that Bob indeed is not carrying any real injuries. What might be the reason for Bob faking an injury? Not a secret that Helsinki as a team is going to need a replacement for Ben Hafkey who is retiring after this season, Ben retiring is going to leave a big hole in the middle of the ice. On top of that the winger situation in Helsinki is looking solid, Bob as a heavy-hitting power forward does not exactly fit into the puzzle as well as some of the other players, so Bob and his people are smartly keeping the bigger picture in their mind and trying to eliminate the possibility of getting traded. Another thing if a professional should be playing games like this, but when the career of a simulation hockey player is only so long, sometimes you need to turn every stone to make sure your future as a player is secured. The trade deadline is reportedly on 17th august, so anything and everything can still happen. Jim Bob himself has not commented on rumors, but what we do know is that Bob is able to play, he was in the Titans morning skate today and is going to play against Chicago later in the evening. Remains to be seen what kind of Jim Bob we will see on the ice, there is no denying the fact that he has looked slower and at times almost uninterested, which as mentioned has resulted in him not getting to play as much as a player of his quality maybe should. diacope 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/88190-bob-playing-while-injured/ Share on other sites
ahockeyguy 110
Review: This is highly entertaining stuff, something I have come to expect when reading your work! I especially liked the visual planted in my head of Jim Bob running away from bar bouncers, and the creativity of having him potentially faking an injury (I mean, it's probable, but I love that it's a kind of wondering in the article). Be careful of some grammar things (e.g., run-on sentences), but otherwise, I really like the structure, story, and info you give in this article. I look forward to seeing what Jim Bob is going to do next! Score: 7/10. jRuutu 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/88190-bob-playing-while-injured/#findComment-769432 Share on other sites
