d3vilsfire 132
*DISCLAIMER* - This is probably the 4th article I have done basically on the same topic. I am truly sorry for that, but its the easiest for me to churn out. I hope you enjoy the 4th version of the same topic, and hopefully its different enough so that you all can still enjoy it. Is history in the making for the former Vasteras IK J20 franchise? Before this season, GM Bruce Wayne of the Moscow Red Wolves promised fans that Moscow would be competitive in S38. So many fans and league officials laughed in Mr. Wayne’s face claiming that it would be near impossible, and trust me; there was not much support behind Mr. Wayne’s claims. Moscow Red Wolves' Steve Tremblay taking the puck towards net. The Moscow franchise had just finished the season as the 3rd worst team in the VHLM, and were heading into a decent draft with picks spread out across the rounds, not focused in the first round where the majority of the impactful talent is selected. All seemed lost when the inexperienced GM Bruce Wayne picked Seth Rollins 3rd overall. Rollins was not even considered a 1st round pick, so this only added fuel to the laughing stock that Moscow was becoming. Following the draft, Mr. Wayne admitted to his faults and only gave himself a “C.” A “C” is definitely not the grade a team going from bottom-feeder to cup team should get. At this point, there were rumors that Moscow Red Wolves’ executives were debating on whether letting the 3-season veteran GM go. So what allowed Mr. Wayne to keep his job? The promise and attitude he brought to Moscow. As Vasteras, there was little to no hope for them to achieve anything more than first overall. However, as Moscow, under Bruce Wayne, there was still hope, especially since he had a good reputation among players and other GMs, though he himself was young and inexperienced. So how did Mr. Wayne save himself from complete embarrassment? Well firstly, Mr. Wayne did not trade his second 1st round draft pick, Steve Tremblay. Rumor had it that teams had inquired about his availability and were willing to pay handsomely for his services. However, Mr. Wayne stuck to his guns and decided to keep Tremblay. With 54 goals and 96 points in 43 games, Steve Tremblay has not disappointed. He currently leads his team both in production and as the captain of the team. Moscow Red Wolves' Moe Mills was a mid season trade acquisition But surely one man could not win his team the cup. This is true, and Moscow actually began the season with a losing record. This caused fans to call for Mr. Wayne’s firing and the skeptics cheering that they had been right all along. However, something changed about 10 games into the season. Mr. Wayne chalks it up to some minor line changes, but whatever Mr. Wayne told his men in the locker room, it worked. Moscow began climbing in the standings: first to a playoffs spot, and now to the conference title. Their ascension to the conference title position is not solely from UFA and draft editions, but also from huge trade acquisitions from rebuilding teams. This includes players: forward Jackson Miller (12 goals and 29 points in 22 games) and defensemen Moe Mills (13 assists and 15 points in 22 games). Both have played a key role for Moscow as Jackson Miller has been on the first line with Steve Tremblay and Aksel Thomassen (39 assists and 51 points in 43 games), and Moe Mills has been playing first pair. Aksel Thomassen has been anchoring Moscow's top line since the inception of the season Summed together, Mr. Wayne has put together a competitive team who is 29-13-1 for 59 points in 43 games. In their last ten games, Moscow has gone 7-3-0. They currently sit first in their conference: ahead of the Turku Outlaws by 3 points, and 2nd in the league: behind the Yukon Rush by 9 points. The projection is that the Moscow Red Wolves will remain atop their conference, but remain in second overall in the league standings. Though this might be a setback, Moscow fans can be rest assured that Mr. Wayne is holding to his promise that Moscow will be competitive this season. Guest Svoboda_3
Content: 3/3 665 words. I think at some point you might want to switch things up topic-wise, but for the most part, this was excellent and was way better structured than they have been in the past. I thought you provided some great material here.Grammar: 2/2 A lot better than in previous MS's. mid season = mid-season playoffs spot = playoff spot defensemen = defenseman who = that Appearance: 1/1 Good work with the consistent images.Overall: 6/6 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/8874-claimedis-history-in-the-making-for-the-former-vasteras-ik-j20-franchise/#findComment-82063 Share on other sites
