Draft Week

 

After an early exit from the playoffs of the Las Vegas Aces, Gabriel Akerstrom has spent more time sat waiting for something to happen than he would normally like. With that being said however, good things can come around all at once and that seems to be the case this week as he will take part in not one, but two different drafts. The VHL and the VHLM drafts are planned to take place this week, and as a prospect in both, Gabriel will certainly have a lot to focus on in the coming days.

 

While the level of prospect he is evaluated to be by those in the VHL is still unclear, he's hopeful that he is set to be recognised as one of the top picks in the VHLM Draft, being one of the most developed and ready for immediate success that teams will be able to pick. The fact that he spent a large amount of time in the league already will likely be attractive to teams too as it gives them confirmation that he has what it takes to perform at a high level in the VHLM and fill the gap that they have. Although the VHL Draft is a little more unclear, Gabriel has had some positive conversations with teams involved and is hopeful that can be an indication of a desire from teams to draft him. All that remains now is for him to sit back and see how things play out this week.
